We are looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join our team! As an integral part of our senior leadership team, the Senior Tax Manager will report directly to the CEO and will lead and manage multiple tax preparers and engagements in a manner that reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence while providing timely, relevant, and superior quality tax services for our clients. You are responsible for ensuring that all members of the tax team are focused on helping our clients effectively manage their tax obligations proactively and responsibly.
This position works closely with internal and external clientele to build and execute sustainable tax strategies, improve internal controls and processes, and tax risk management. The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for the preparation, management, and quality control review of all client tax returns including corporate, partnership, individual, trusts, and estate.
Job Description
- Responsible for managing and ensuring company’s tax policies and internal control procedures are following relevant tax codes on local, state, and federal levels.
- Preparation, management, and quality control review of all federal and state income taxes for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations.
- Perform technical tax review of assigned tax returns of varying complexity.
- Interact directly with clients, managing questions, planning, consulting, etc. – approximately 20- 40% of your time.
- Deliver high quality tax planning and advisory services to existing tax clients.
- Builds new and existing client relationships and demonstrates knowledge of client business.
- Prepares internal memoranda, written correspondence/guidance, private letter rulings and other documents for submission to the IRS or Treasury Department.
- Train, supervise and mentor staff along with reviewing and evaluating their work.
- Manage multiple clients, budgets and production goals.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, required.
- Master’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent, highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in public accounting firm
- 3 to 5 years of management experience.
License/Certifications:
- CPA License, required.
- EA License
Software:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Prior experience with various tax, file management and practice management applications and research tools
- Prior experience with QuickBooks, Ultratax, Practice, Planner and Workpapers, preferred.
