Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the material management process and ensure on-time delivery of quality product.
- Identify and manage outside suppliers as necessary
- Implement and Support Processes required maintain Regulatory Compliance.
- Assess current material availability; forecasts availability based on the customer releases and new program information.
- Ensure an adequate supply of materials is on hand and in the order pipeline to achieve customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain company contracts with suppliers.
- Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding business
- Resolves discrepancies with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers.
- Develop, Organize, and Report on Key Performance Indicators
- Oversee the daily activities of schedulers, receiving and shipping clerks, and buyers.
- Manage reporting methods, minimizing, and disposing of obsolete materials
- Direct production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts.
- Direct production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
- Maintain inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.
- Oversee shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.
- Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
- Manage and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
- Establish procedures and manages execution of year-end physical inventory.
- Ensure customer releases are entered as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management or related course of study required. May consider 15+ years of directly relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 10+ years in production purchasing and materials management.
- 5+ years in a leadership role with responsibility for all aspects of leading people, e.g. coaching, training, etc.
- Proven ability to hire and develop top-tier talent.
- Demonstrated commitment to process development and continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to influence others to meet objectives.
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities.
- Proficient in using MS Office
- Deep understanding of AS9100 requirements
