Job Overview
Truelines client, a global battery design, development, and manufacturing firm, is seeking a Controller to lead financial activities for their manufacturing site near Baltimore.
The Controller is responsible for prompt and reliable financial reports that guide the site toward growth and stability. The Controller will work closely with the General Manager, providing financial and business metrics from historical and current data, and advising on market trends and future potential.
What youll do:
Ensure accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of all financial functions, including budgeting, annual reports, forecasts, audits, taxes, collections/invoicing, and cost tracking.
Direct all budgetary processes from start to finish.
Collect all relevant budgetary information, coordinating with other department leaders including Commercial, Project Management, and GM, to create comprehensive financial reports/packages.
Prepare and submit annual budget for approval by corporate leadership.
Maintain updated monthly financial forecasts based on orders, backlog and margin evolution throughout the year.
Incorporate changes in volume, TPs, margins, and site expenses with commercial orders and sales forecasts, and provide to management.
Timely and accurate monthly reporting, communicating assumptions to site management and corporate leadership.
Supervise Accounts Receivable Support Clerk, ensuring the timely collection of funds from all accounts and ensuring DSO meets expectations.
Collect, review, analyze and report all site financial reporting
Provide support for all audits and, tax issues, including sales & use, property, franchise, duty, brokerage, and commissions information
Collect all pertinent data to calculate revenue recognition each period and the associated cost of sales and inventory adjustments. Insure associated accounts for Revenue, Cost of Sales, Inventory, Unbilled and Deferred Revenue accounts reconcile to reported data
Record IFRS adjustments for Capitalized Development and any others required to align GAAP reporting with IFRS
Coordinate with Tax Manager on treatment of timing lines regarding the R&D tax credit
Supervise Program Management Finance staff
Accuracy of daily revenue reporting and estimated cost tracking.
Ensure proposals are legal and cost estimates accurate with appropriate assumptions
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field;
8+ years minimum experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment.
3 years minimum experience managing a team
Knowledge of F.A.R and Cost Accounting Standards. Experience in communicating with DCAA/DCMA and preparing Incurred Cost Submissions
Familiarity with Magnitude reporting software a plus
5+ years of manufacturing experience huge plus
CPA (preferred but not required); CMA a plus
Must be US citizen or green card holder.
