Position Summary

This Financial Paralegal / Trust Analyst position is integral to our trust administration and private foundation operations. It requires a thorough understanding of accounting and the motivation to ensure the work is 100% accurate. The position is responsible for preparing and reviewing various journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing both regular and ad-hoc reports. The position coordinates directly with an attorney on various financial aspects of trust and private foundations administration for ultra-high net worth clients. Confidentiality of proprietary information is a must.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Track multiple tax deadlines and incoming tax documents.
  • Coordinate with CPA, clients and investment advisors to obtain missing tax documents.
  • Track grant reconciliation and update historic analysis.
  • Manage correspondence between attorney and clients.
  • Organize, file, and maintain physical and electronic files.
  • Proofread draft documents.
  • Review cash statements and financial reports for accuracy.
  • Pay bills and write checks.
  • Prepare trust accountings, as needed and miscellaneous projects as requested.
  • Multiple account reconciliations, including scanning and uploading monthly statements.
  • Prepare Unitrust quarterly calculations.
  • Communicate with internal teams, financial institutions, and CPA.
  • Daily tracking and entering of billable time for each client into the firm's client billing system.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including but not limited to basic and advanced formula usage, data sorting, graphing, filtering, pivot tables and manipulation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute with 95% accuracy.
  • Ability to both, follow instructions, and think and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.
  • Understanding of written legal material.
  • Ability to understand and summarize basic financial statements.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable procedures.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent training or work experience
