We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Building Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our office team, premises, and property. As the first point of contact each day, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for our team members. The ideal candidate will be proactive, observant, and possess strong communication skills to promote a safe and secure workplace.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct regular patrols of the building, both interior and exterior, to monitor and enforce security protocols.
• Provide a visible and reassuring presence to deter criminal activity and assist employees, visitors, and customers.
• Control and monitor access points to ensure that only authorized individuals enter a secured area.
• Responding promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies such as medical, fire and security breaches.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
• Conduct regular team training on points of egress and fire drills.
• Utilize and manage security technology and surveillance cameras.
• Escort team members to their cars in the evening, upon request, ensuring a safe departure from the premises.
• Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, incidents, and observations.
• Conduct routine inspections of security equipment and report any malfunctions.
• Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes.
• Attend additional training as determined by the company.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

• Strong observational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with security equipment and systems.
• This position is physical in nature and candidates must be able to stand for up to 8 hrs per shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have or be able to quickly acquire knowledge of company structure (mission, goals, and objectives), and policies and procedures.
• Must have a valid Florida Class D security license
• Must have experience working as a security guard, or comparable experience with 3 years of experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Travel may be required.
• Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America.
