Job Summary: Native American Community Clinic’s Medical Department is seeking an experienced Clinical Support Manager to join our team. This position will be responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating Native American Community Clinic (NACC) clinical support operations through oversight and direction of the Patient Navigation/Advocacy, Medical Scribe, and Registration teams. This individual will seek to optimize access, development, and integration of the department. The Manager will model a culture of teamwork within the clinic to promote the highest quality care and alignment with NACCs values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions with all clinical support teams include, but are not limited to:
- Program Leadership:
- Empower support staff to improve care delivery and outcomes. Promote shared responsibility for patient care processes among team members.
- Translate organizational goals into actionable steps for the team to execute as well as work to define clear departmental goals for staff.
- Develops a strategic plan for each program at NACC to optimize patient flow and outcomes, ensuring that all team members are conducting work at the highest licensure level.
- Serves on the management team and shares responsibility for fiscal, medical, and administrative stewardship of the organization, including compliance, risk management, and quality improvement programs. Participates in departmental planning efforts.
- Program Development:
- Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of each program including policies/procedures, staffing, and program optimization.
- Serve as the main point of contact between each program and stakeholders, both internal and external, including partner and referral organizations.
- Develop policies and procedures to support improvement in patient and organizational outcomes.
- In partnership with the Medical Leadership Team, establish standards that will aim to promote implementation of evidence-based practice and patient- centered care.
- Clinical Support Oversight:
- Develops a strategic plan for programs at NACC to optimize patient flow and outcomes, ensuring that all team members are conducting work at the highest training level.
- Oversee Medical Scribe tasks, ensuring adequate staffing to facilitate:
- Provider support of scribe duties
- Efficient navigation of the EMR
- Administrative support for clinical functions
- Oversee Patient Navigation/Advocacy tasks, assisting with improving efficiency and flow. Supports team tasks as needed:
- Completion of care coordination tasks
- Resource for social support
- Participation in community events and promotion
- Enrollment of uninsured patients into insurance programs
- Support patient needs for social need assessment and follow-up.
- Oversee Registration Coordination team, ensuring staffing and process flow to support:
- Registration of patients for appointments
- Appointment scheduling
- Managing flow of lobby
- Partnership with Billing to ensure efficient processes and high patient experience.
- Directly supervises employees within the clinical support team within the Medical Clinic.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare related field, Advanced Degree preferred
2-5 years ambulatory care experience, required
2-5 years leadership experience, including direct supervision of clinical support staff, required
Prior community health experience, preferred
