The RN is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to the individual patient needs based on the nursing process which includes: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. He or she promotes continuity of care to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met. The RN must be capable of functioning as a member of the team and perform duties as necessary. This includes delegating and supervising support nursing staff that participates in the provision of care.
As defined in the collective bargaining agreement "Includes responsibilities for directing the designated unit or department through expanded on-going responsibilities for staff, patient care and patient flow."

Position Description
The RN is responsible for providing nursing care adapted to the individual patient needs based on the nursing process which includes: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Essential Functions
- Collects data pertinent to the patient's health or the situation. Completes nursing history and physical assessment upon admission
- Reassesses the patient during shift as patient's condition requires. Assesses subtle changes in patient status, anticipates problems before they occur, and implements appropriate measures
- Manages comprehensive nursing care for patients whose needs range from uncomplicated to complex and can be rapidly changing. Specialty areas may require additional experience.
- Organizes and prioritizes nursing care activities considering the needs of the patients and other staff members
- Collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to improve care delivered to assigned patients
- Operates unit specific equipment and procedures as outlined in defined competencies
- Initiates, plans, and participates in patient and family teaching, and provides professional nursing care within the legal scope of practice and standards developed by the profession, Nurse Practice Act and regulatory agencies
- Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation. Utilizes the physicians' history and physical progress notes and notes from other specialties: Pharmacy, Respiratory Care, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, etc., to plan care.
- Implements the identified plan of care. Ensures that the plan of care is coordinated to achieve the desired outcomes. Teaches the patient about his or her illness and promotes health. Consults other nursing experts or the patient's physician as needed. Makes age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs. Evaluates progress toward attainment of patient clinical outcomes and adjusts the plan accordingly.
What you'll need:
- Current Washington state RN license in good standing
- CPR/BLS/ACLS/PALS Certification
- 5 years of experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
