SUMMARY
The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the Company. This includes maintaining financial reports, maintenance of accounting system and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with GAAP and / or Financial Reporting Standards.
Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are a general guideline and not intended to be an exhaustive list of the full scope of responsibilities. Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based on business needs and at managements discretion.
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions, including but not limited to AP/AR, bank reconciliations, general ledger, corporate credit card accounts, fleet and company vehicle program, etc.
- Manage month end / year end closing and reporting
- Manage inventory reconciliations and physical inventory process
- Manager & maintain the companies various inventory floor plans
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Maintain and provide financial information and reporting to the senior leadership and executive team
- Coordinate activities of external auditors and tax returns
- Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement and implement new process
- Evaluate accounting and internal control systems
- Oversee regulatory reporting, including corporate tax filings, debt covenants and all compliance
- Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting and finance staff
- Support CFO in implementing and managing the budget process
- Provides ongoing support and collaboration with the CFO in all areas of accounting and financial matters
- Maintains financial and banking relationships
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education/Additional Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business Administration required
- Experience in dealership, material handling or related experience desired
- Ten years or more of related accounting and / or financial reporting & analysis experience required
- Cost Accounting experience preferred
- CPA / CMA / MBA; preferred
- Experience managing external financial audits
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in various accounting software programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in excel using pivot tables, formulas, data tables, power query, formatting, VBA & Macros, graphs and charting
- Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central program preferred

Salary Range DOE: $140k - $160k
