Purpose
We are currently seeking a Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) Test Engineer that has experience in embedded systems to join our Internet of Things department’s Research & Development team dedicated to creating and enhancing our cutting edge low power connected technologies. In this role you will play a key part in ensuring our firmware passes regression testing on HIL devices as well as work with automated & containerized testing of firmware triggered by Continuous Integration (CI) events from repositories. Additionally there will be opportunities to work on LoRaWAN gateway user applications as well as other hardware projects.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, create & test HIL test jigs
- Write firmware for HIL jigs
- Collaborate with HW/FW teams
- Support a Kanban based task assignment / tracking process
- Support best practices for testing embedded firmware
- Design, create & test codebase triggered HIL tests
- Design, create & test OTA HIL tests
- 2+ years of C, C++ or Assembly on embedded devices
- Ability to build firmware from source
- Ability to use Altium or equivalent to design 2-4 layer printed circuit boards (PCB)
- Familiarity with Git
- Familiarity with Hardware-in-Loop testing
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration & Regression Testing
- Familiarity with wireless embedded systems
- Familiarity with ARM Cortex
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering basic concepts
- Knowledge of scripting languages used on test jigs (Python, NodeJS, in addition to C, C++ etc)
- Comfortable with soldering
- Comfortable with assembling mechanical test jigs
- Experience ordering PCBs, components, and equipment to create prototypes
