Job Description

The purpose of the marketing department is to provide professional and technical marketing communications expertise for De Beers Jewellers, De Beers Forevermark, and our retail partners. The group oversees the strategy, development, execution, and evaluation of all marketing communications programs in the US and Canada, and allocates the resources necessary to implement the strategies and tactics to accomplish our key objectives: to create awareness and desire for luxury jewelry house De Beers Jewelers and premium De Beers Forevermark diamond jewelry, drive foot traffic and sales at our standalone stores, De Beers Forevermark Jeweler locations, and online at Forevermark.com and DeBeers.com, and via our online partners. Specifically, the marketing group oversees media planning, advertising creative, the consumer website, CRM, social media, and marketing content for North America.

  • Support the VP of Marketing in the development and execution of the North American marketing strategy for De Beers.
    • Manage implementation of strategic content developed in partnership with HQ Brand team for use across websites, media, CRM, PR, training, trade events, etc. in North America.
    • Liaise with the HQ De Beers Brand team to provide relevant market context and input for global campaign concept development.
    • Ensure key visuals, messages, etc. align with overarching business strategies.
    • Oversee product alignment with Merchandising team for local marketing initiatives.
  • Serve as the US liaison with the global media agency, overseeing the implementation of new brand and product media campaigns in North America.
    • Develop media briefs, review, and approve media plans from US/global media agency.
      • Channels include television, streaming video, print, display, programmatic, social media, out-of-home, etc.
    • Partner with HQ De Beers Media Manager on media plan execution and creative deliveries.
    • Conduct meetings with media outlets to develop advertising relationships and assess partnership potential.
    • Analyze activity performance and data to optimize campaigns against target KPIs in real-time, and review completion reports to identify enhancements for future campaigns.
  • Manage the marketing budget:
    • Track and submit marketing invoices to finance for payment.
    • Review the monthly transaction reports from finance to ensure team is pacing to budget.
    • Collaborate with VP of Marketing on budgeting projects and milestones over the year, reconciling year-end budgets and accruals.
  • Co-op Marketing and Jeweler Partner Support:
    • Oversee the marketing programs for brand boutiques and national retail partners
      • Assist Omnichannel Marketing Manager on the optimization of product content, including product images/videos for independent and department store partners, as well as owned .com channels.
      • Review and approval national retail partner media campaigns to ensure strategic alignment and analyze performance to measure ROI.
    • Partner with graphic designer on creating custom national retail partner creative;
    • Review and approve all campaign creative to be added to the marketing portal for jeweler partner user; and
    • Brief external vendors on TV/ video and other asset production as needed.
  • Competitive:
    • Track and report marketing activities/strategies by other brands, advertising campaigns, etc.
  • Perform adhoc responsibilities as needed to achieve business objectives; and
  • Act as key liaison with PR team, ensuring Marketing/PR activities are integrated.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, marketing degree a plus;
  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in luxury brand management, marketing, and advertising in the luxury space;
  • Experience in creative development and production across digital, print, television, etc.;
  • Experience in media planning, execution, and campaign analysis;
  • Leadership – must be able to partner with a variety of internal and external teams and jewelers and guide them on the brand parameters;
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving and people skills with the ability to manage up or down, across the company;
  • Highly energetic and adaptable to a dynamic and changing work environment;
  • Strong ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environment;
  • Active team member, collaborating with and supporting the rest of the marketing team;
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and project management skills; and
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PPT, Word, Teams as well as Asana for project management.

  The salary range for this position is $85K - $95K USD anually.
