Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is an integral part of the finance and accounting team, reporting to the VP of Lathrup with support from the Controller. This position will be located in Novi, MI and be the key finance person on site. A critical element to this role is to be a business partner and advisor to the other functions of the business as well as a voice of the business. The Senior Accountant will generate all internal/external financial reporting, monthly financial analysis materials, and provide ad hoc analysis for the organization. As such, this role will be a highly visible role with a tremendous opportunity to drive change and positively impact our business while working side by side with the senior leadership.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Accounts receivable activities; Customer invoicing, collections, cash applications and bank deposits.
• Accounts payable activities; Invoice entry and vendor payments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation.
• Perform necessary journal entries, account balance reconciliation and month end close of the General Ledger.
• Manage all cost accounting activities; Plan, collect, analyze, and report data which will drive strategic business decisions.
• Manage physical inventories including adjustments and reconciliation.
• Provide audit support including creating, reviewing, and presenting audit documentation.
• Build strong partnerships with other key functional leaders in the business as well as other key stakeholders.
• Manage and execute the annual operating plan and monthly financial forecast processes.
• Assist in developing finance and business presentations and related supporting materials for the senior leadership team, Board of Directors (BOD) and other outside constituents.
• Assist in ERP implementation, testing and process improvements.

• Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated business partnering and interpersonal skills.
• Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions.
• High degree of proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office365 products.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in job shop settings.
• Experience in inventory management systems in a job shop setting.
• Prior experience working with ERP software used in a job shop environment.
• Strong project management skills.
• High energy, high ownership of work product and dedication and commitment to driving results.

Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 solid years of Cost Accounting in Manufacturing, particularly in a job shop environment.
• Must have a strong Cost systems background with experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.
• Demonstrated abilities in financial modeling and analysis.
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Compensation/Other Considerations
• $70,000 - $85,000 Base salary
• Health, 401k and other benefits
• Limited travel
