JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary
Regal Boats is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as an Industrial Engineer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for the process design, operation, and implementation. The successful candidate will be able to manage all aspects of their projects to improve industrial processes, maintain efficiency, reduce cost, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for analyzing current manufacturing processes and designing and implementing more efficient production lines and workstations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify root causes of inefficiencies or defects, and develop solutions to address them
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings.
  • Design, redesign, or enhance work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
  • Conduct time studies, work sampling, and process analysis to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborates with engineers and support teams to design cost-effective tools during implementation.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in continuous improvement and quality management in order to incorporate them into the organization's practices and processes.
  • Provide training and support to production teams to ensure understanding and adherence to new processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality in manufacturing processes
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure the impact of process improvements.
  • Manage and implement the changes directly when required (e.g. painting lines, hanging tags, building fixtures)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Willingness to be in the manufacturing floor for the first 6 months on the job, to learn all production processes through engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field. Five years proven experience as Industrial Engineer in lieu of degree
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Proven experience of implementing and managing solo led projects
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Thorough understanding of ergonomics and applicable industry standards
  • At least 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • CAD or AutoCad skills
  • Conversational English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) or similar discipline
  • At least one years experience in the boat manufacturing industry
  • Familiar with utilizing PDCA Continuous Improvement model
  • Familiarity with Rhino CAD software

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to access and navigate all areas in the facility and access all machinery.
