Job description

Position Overview

The Site Industrial Engineer ensures the optimal process flow and facilities for each process, as well as the optimal plant and process layout to guarantee:

  • The safety of employees
  • The quality of products
  • High efficiency of processes
  • Productive capacity that meets delivery schedules

This role also involves defining and monitoring, together with the Engineering Site Lead, the optimal cycle times for each operation and the headcount needed to support requirements.

What you'll do

  • Perform weekly safety process walks and implement effective countermeasures to identified industrial engineering (IE) risks, ensuring zero accidents or ergonomic issues.
  • Develop and implement optimal plant layouts.
  • Develop and implement optimal process layouts for each plant process.
  • Develop and implement optimal process flows for each process, including packaging.
  • Measure and define cycle times for each plant operation.
  • Audit cycle times for each operation monthly.
  • Define the required headcount for each process monthly based on forecasted volume.
  • Develop and obtain approval for the "Need to Run" format on a monthly basis, supported by the Engineering Site Lead.
  • Analyze process flows to balance production lines as needed.
  • Perform ergonomic analyses and evaluations for all plant operations.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams in completing industrial engineering studies, analyses, or evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain standard work procedures for industrial engineering topics.
  • Define the best process layouts for new processes (launches/new projects) in collaboration with the CoE Process Lead and Engineering Site Lead.
  • Define initial cycle times for new processes (launches/new projects) in collaboration with the CoE Process Lead and Engineering Site Lead.
  • Develop and implement optimal process flows for new processes (launches/new projects) in collaboration with the CoE Process Lead and Engineering Site Lead, including packaging.
  • Support launches/new projects with any other Industrial Engineering deliverables.
  • Validate cycle times and headcount during LV1 performance.
  • Lead and perform cycle time and headcount studies as needed.
  • Lead productive capacity studies and validation for current or new processes as needed.
  • Validate cycle times and headcount during LV2 performance.
  • Support special projects development and implementation regarding IE topics as needed.
  • Remove any roadblocks related to Industrial Engineering that could prevent achieving operational metrics.
  • Support the Engineering Site Lead on Industrial Engineering topics for the plant.
  • Establish SMART goals for Industrial Engineering KPIs.
  • Communicate potential risks or major issues related to Industrial Engineering to the Engineering Site Lead.
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • At least 3 years experience in industrial engineering required, 5 years experience preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management (desirable)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently
