Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer or Industrial Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Iuka, MS. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Aerostructures organization.
The selected candidate will work a Monday - Thursday 4x10 schedule.
Essential Functions:
  • Analyze shop floor data and develop metrics for daily performance management, i.e. daily earns, efficiency, WIP, cost and schedule
  • Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving, impactful solutions.
  • Develop and iterate on detail production build schedules by working closely with Production Operations
  • Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and implement cost-saving solutions.
  • Utilize various Continuous Improvement tools to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity and optimize schedule.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Industrial Engineer or an Industrial Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Industrial Engineer:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026
  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business

Basic Qualifications for an Industrial Engineer

  • Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution by August 2026 or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing environment

  • Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the business

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
  • Experience with Excel Macros, Advanced Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power BI, SQL
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Ability to apply basic Industrial Engineering principles
  • Experience with Excel, including macros, data mining, and pivot tables
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, including Gantt charts
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance

Pay Range:
  • Associate Industrial Engineer $56,700 to $85,100
  • Industrial Engineer $68,200 to $102,400
