Position: Industrial Engineer
Work Location: Dalton, GA 30721
Duration: Full-Time/Direct hire
Shift: 8am - 5pm
 
Job Description
Responsible for maximizing productivity, eliminating waste, and optimizing manufacturing plant layouts. Analyzes assembly workflows, conducts time and motion studies, designs ergonomic workstations, and develops capacity models. Integrates equipment, personnel, and material streams to lower operational costs while safeguarding product safety and build quality.
 
Essential Job Functions & Duties:
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and plant layout arrangements to optimize material flow and space utilization.
  • Conduct rigorous time-and-motion studies, establish standard work parameters, and balance assembly line task times.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities and lead process optimization projects under Lean Manufacturing criteria.
  • Design and configure ergonomically compliant workstations, specialized line racks, and manufacturing fixtures.
  • Formulate comprehensive equipment capacity models and labor standards to align with forecasted volumes.
  • Collaborate with launch teams to cleanly transition new products from design phases to active floor production.
 
Skills & Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a strictly related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial engineering capacity within an active manufacturing plant.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for facility layouts and structural workflow plotting.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing frameworks (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, SMED).
  • Advanced analytical and data-driven problem-solving mindset with high proficiency in Excel modeling.
