Targeted HR Consulting is conducting a confidential search for a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company with a dominant market position and an outstanding workplace culture.

The company continues to make significant investments in new capital equipment, automation, and manufacturing technology, creating an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys driving continuous improvement and implementing innovative manufacturing solutions.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, this position will focus on improving manufacturing processes, increasing productivity, supporting new product launches, and implementing automation solutions within a heavy manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and improve manufacturing processes to maximize productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Develop production tooling using 2D and 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks.
  • Implement process improvements for existing production lines using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Perform root cause analysis utilizing statistical methods and recommend corrective actions.
  • Design and implement manufacturing processes for new products and engineering changes.
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on products, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and process optimization.
  • Participate in cross-functional engineering and product development teams.
  • Support Design of Experiments (DOE), Lean Manufacturing initiatives, ROI analysis, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead or participate in design review meetings for new and existing products.
  • Develop work instructions, standard operating procedures, statements of work, and spare parts documentation.
  • Implement automation systems including robotics, PLCs, vision systems, controls integration, end-of-arm tooling, fixturing, gauging, and machine design.
  • Manage engineering projects from concept through implementation while meeting quality, schedule, and cost objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; equivalent manufacturing engineering experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience designing production tooling using SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software.
  • Strong tooling design experience.
  • Experience with automation technologies including robotics, PLCs, controls integration, and vision systems.
  • Project management experience with manufacturing improvement initiatives.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Experience

  • Heavy manufacturing, foundry, forging, stamping, or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Capital equipment implementation.
  • Process optimization and workflow improvements.
