You'll make an impact as you:
  • Provide evidence-based medical care (for example, preventive care, acute care, management of chronic conditions) based on medical education, training, and experience reviewing complete patient medical history information and performing physical examinations; identifying and assessing patients' clinical problems and health care needs; suggesting, ordering, interpreting, and assessing diagnostic tests (for example, labs, imaging); formulating treatment plans based on patients' clinical presentation using evidence-based care guidelines; obtaining informed consent; and documenting patient history, physical assessment, and treatment plan.
  • Represent the company in health care quality and patient engagement by delivering customer service through all patient interactions; maintaining and updating patient information (for example, patient medical records) in electronic medical record and other relevant health information technology systems according to company policies and procedures; guiding center administrative and clinical staff on best practices and procedures (for example, patient engagement, quality metrics); participating in quality assurance audits, quality improvement initiatives, quality management programs, and patient and condition specific care management outreach programs; developing relationships with local health care providers to ensure successful program implementation ; developing and promoting health events (for example, patient outreach within the store and at employer sites , clinical education, local community outreach events); performing administrative tasks for the center as necessary.
  • Provide evidence-based medical care by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options (for example, therapeutic procedures and medical supplies); delivering basic clinical care (for example, vaccinations, medication injections); educating patients and recommending appropriate patient follow up; collaborating and consulting with supervising primary care physicians and other health professionals to prepare and coordinate patient care plans; and following up with patient and other health professionals regarding any outstanding diagnostics, tests, or other patient information as needed.
  • Provide expertise, resources, and support to clinical staff (for example, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), Medical Assistants (MAs)) and field leadership (for example, Market Director) by serving as a subject matter expert and modeling best practices for Walmart Health Centers, delivery techniques, and patient counseling ; training NPs and MAs in the delivery of clinical services; managing staffing needs to patient volume; educating clinical staff on licensure and certification requirements; responding to clinical and compliance inquiries from clinical staff, patients, and stakeholders; ensuring clinical staff comply with regulatory requirements (for example, federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to health privacy), related corporate policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for employees by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness; and participating in and supporting community outreach events.
You'll sweep us off our feet if you have...
  • At least 4 years' experience in clinical services as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • At least 2 years’ experience supervising or leading medical teams (including APPs) or clinics
  • Valid advanced state practice license as Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Valid accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) OR Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP) and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PPCNP-BC); OR from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as a Physician Assistant
  • Valid prescriptive authority (per state practice requirements)
  • Valid Medicare and Medicaid provider in the state of practice
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in nursing OR Master’s of physician assistant studies
  • 2+ years’ experience in clinical services as an NP or PA
  • 1 + year experience supervising or leading medical teams (including APPs) or clinics
  • Valid advanced state practice license (APRN/ANP/CNP/PNP/PAC) as required by state
