Job Summary: working closely with the CEO, the HR Manager makes recommendations and administers all policies, procedures and programs related to human resources for two company locations in Sonoma County, California. The HR Manager's primary responsibilities include company culture management, administering payroll and benefits, compensation management, leaves of absence, full employment cycle management, and employee relations within the company.

Job Responsibilities:

Administer the Human Resources function and procedures for all company employees as follows:

  • Maintain well organized, compliant, accurate and confidential personnel records within HRIS database.
  • Manage all aspects of health benefits including administration, monitoring eligibility, new enrollments, renewals and open enrollment, terminations, COBRA and monthly reconciliations.
  • Process and code benefits bills (Kaiser, Sutter Health & MetLife)
  • Manage 401(k) administration including deferral changes, reporting & loan processing.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and ensure all employee information is accurate.
  • Work closely with managers to ensure job descriptions are accurate and up to date.
  • Actively help managers with job postings, interviewing potential candidates, and on-boarding for new hires.
  • Assist managers with administering timely performance reviews.
  • Manage all leaves of absence, including keeping the company compliant, determining eligibility, communicating with employees on leave, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Manage harassment training regularly and in compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Manage all claims pertaining to workers compensation, unemployment insurance, state disability insurance, etc. & reporting as needed
  • Prepare necessary paperwork and process all employee separations.
  • Maintain Employee Handbook by making recommendations, updating, communicating changes to management and staff, and distributing.
  • Make recommendations to help improve employee work relationships and morale while increasing productivity and retention.
  • Respond to employees promptly to inquiries about company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Complete government agency reporting requests.
  • Implement new internal, local, State and Federal policies as directed or when necessary.
  • Meet regularly with CEO as well as managers to ensure high standards, commitment to quality, and company culture are maintained on all levels.
  • Stay current on local, State and Federal labor laws through professional affiliations, seminars, continuing education/training, and on the advice of consultants and attorneys.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • BA in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 5+ years in HR Management role
  • Some alcoholic beverage industry experience preferred
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong leadership skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available to work extended hours to meet critical deadlines
