We are actively searching for a 2nd Shift Supervisor to join our team in Ravenna, OH. This is a newly created role in our new ABS Compounding Facility.


Shift Supervisors are integral members and leaders of the production team that performs the essential job functions of compounding process’s operators and material handlers to maintain efficient and continuous operations.

The Shift Supervisor must possess the ability to drive for results both as an individual contributor and as a leader. Shift Supervisors are responsible for directing the daily activities of the production team to ensure departmental goals in safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement are met. Additional accountabilities include training, coaching, and mentoring shift members.

Will perform overseeing, management and organization tasks related to overall operation of ABS compound process to ensure shift members work efficiently, effectively and safely during their shift.
Shall provide supervision and direction of employees as well as planning and controlling production performance as measured by key performance indicators.
Should ensure compliance to established safety rules/policies, customer quality and production specifications
and works with employees to develop the necessary skills to perform job tasks as outlined in the work instructions.

Hours of 2nd Shift (Operators) Monday To Friday 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM.

Responsibilities:

Essential Function:

  • Directs the day-to-day activities of the shift corresponding to production schedule by supervising and assisting operators with tasks below as necessary
  • Accountable for overall shift performance in accordance to established Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to include safety, environment, housekeeping, quality, and production efficiency. Takes necessary actions to ensure goals are achieved in a team environment by leading or promoting problem solving and development of countermeasures with or by shift members as per Control Plan.
  • Responsible for defective product decision, disposal, recycle in addition to reproduction and grade change procedure
  • Provides daily communications to the shift regarding identified problems to support team as well as problem status feedback to the crews.
  • Learn how to operate Bulk silo, Bulk Truck scale, and confirmation process for shipment.
  • Responsible for the resolution of shift issues such as production, quality, safety, employee concerns, etc..
  • Performs daily audits and regular reviews to ensure that safety, housekeeping, basic care rounds, and established job standards are followed.
  • Conducts Start-up / Shut-down procedure of entire manufacturing.
  • Responsible for partnering with maintenance to ensure the following utility equipment is in proper working condition:
    - Power system, Pneumatic system, Cooling water system, Demi Water System, Instrument air system, Waste gas treatment system, RTO system etc.
  • Trains new and current team members on tasks and manages individual job assignments and crew member training plans with assistance from other departmental personnel.
  • Organizes shift schedules for team members and monitoring attendance, tardiness and time off.
  • Maintain and distribute required documents such as work instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety data sheets(SDS).
  • Prepares and distributes shift report & performance reviews sharing feedback with both upper management and team members.
  • Conducts handoff & communication procedure to next shift leader and ensure facility is setup for next shift.
  • Follow and supervise health, safety, environment and employment requirements, legal standards, company regulations & policies for the overall operation.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain the work area ensuring that it is clean, safe and organized.
  • Must uphold the Jeong-Do Management(Code of ethics).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of production, manufacturing, shipping and inventory processes and systems.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to support a flexible schedule(overtime) as needed and required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power point).
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations. (OSHA, NFPA, EPA etc)
  • Forklift license
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Lean Six-Sigma, Lean/Six Sigma knowledge / preferred.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Have basic computer knowledge and overall processing systems/operations and related equipment.
  • Must have acceptable math skills and the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and make decisions.
  • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and ability to prioritize and multi-task.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of previous supervisory skills preferred in a compounding process environment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the ability to be on your feet all day, capability to lift upwards to 55 lbs., normal mobility in wet area.
  • Use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or computer.
  • Periodically move up and down stairs without fear of heights.
  • Legible handwriting, good eyesight, and color perception.
