About the position:

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic leader to take a leadership role in the marketing group. After key strategic moves expanding our subscription business across new industries and reimagining our event portfolio, we are looking for an experienced marketer that can drive our strategy and help us to build and manage a world-class team for our information services business. The ideal candidate should be passionate about marketing strategy and results-driven execution.


They will lead the subscription and event marketing teams to engage, convert and retain audiences in our seven communities and execute across all of our information services offerings with creativity and technical expertise. They will leverage our recently refreshed martech stack and talented teams to grow our core offerings and bring planned innovations to market.

The Head of Information Services Marketing will be a member of the Operational Leadership team, collaborating with our Sales, Events, Editorial, Research and other functional leads to ensure a highly-collaborative organization with the right processes in place to ensure all teams are supported and working together to deliver on the company’s goals.


Core responsibilities include:

  • Understanding our brands and developing audience segments to inform a strategies that expand our existing reach, setting KPIs and developing acquisition models
  • Establish a unified marketing strategy across all information services (subscriptions and events) based on audience data and insights
  • Launch new innovations, products and features that deepen the value proposition of our information services offerings (e.g. data platforms, new events, continuing education offerings)
  • Partner with Audience and Product leads to identify new audience acquisition strategies across our content platform
  • Scale marketing efforts to support demographic and/or behavioral segment-based journeys including leading collaboration with product team to identify and design onsite conversion opportunities
  • Managing subscriptions (singles and enterprise) and event marketing teams to execute plans across seven communities, supporting cross-sell opportunities and managing churn from the database
  • Ensure appropriate retention strategies including management of our subscriptions Saves/Winbacks to achieve revenue goals
  • Managing our in-house media team to ensure effective campaign planning and execution
  • Collaborate with Studio leads to elevate creative development process to delivering high-performing campaigns


Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of digital subscriptions marketing and event experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing / media or related field
  • Proven experience developing brand and data-focused strategies to drive acquisition, audience growth and retention
  • Solid experience building successful digital engagement strategy
  • Understands segmentation and has experience developing relevant messaging for target audiences
  • Passion for marketing and the media business
  • Experience working closely with sales team and lead/fulfillment processes, ideally in a B2B environment
  • Experience with fulfillment vendors / systems desired
  • Dynamic and results-oriented individual, with a leadership mentality
  • Strong analytical skills with a natural drive for achieving results
  • Passionate about the customer experience and ability to see things from their perspective, with empathy
  • Proactive team player with strong communication skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
