Job Description
What we're looking for: An Earned Media Account Executive for MSL's Health Media Team (HMT), part of the Earned Media Center of Excellence, working in the Healthcare Practice.
What you bring to the table: The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare communications, with a strong foundation in media relations and earned media strategy in healthcare. They will have a proven ability to develop compelling media materials, build and maintain credibility with journalists, and support media outreach for product communications, corporate reputation initiatives, disease awareness campaigns, and high-profile partnerships with celebrity advocates, patient ambassadors, and key influencers.
What you'll do: As an Account Executive on the Health Media team, you will partner with leading healthcare and pharmaceutical companies to develop media relations programs that elevate brands, increase disease awareness, and connect with patients and caregivers in meaningful ways. Working alongside an integrated team of communications professionals, you will help shape and execute strategic earned media campaigns, collaborate with top-tier national, consumer, trade and local media, and contribute to high-profile initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day execution of integrated earned media programs across product communications, corporate reputation, disease awareness, and patient engagement initiatives
  • Develop high-quality communications materials, including media pitches, media lists, messaging documents, briefing materials, and client-ready reports
  • Build and maintain relationships with health, consumer, trade, policy and local journalists, placing stories and coordinating interviews that drive meaningful earned coverage
  • Identifying additional timely storytelling opportunities
  • Support the management of inbound media inquiries
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on industry news and the competitive landscape, translating insights into actionable recommendations for clients and internal team
  • Identify emerging healthcare, consumer, and media trends to inform proactive media opportunities and support strategic recommendations

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical public relations at an agency or in-house communications team, with experience supporting media relations and earned media programs
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience building media lists, researching journalists, and executing proactive media outreach across consumer, health, trade, policy, and local media
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for building strong relationships with colleagues, clients, media, and external partners while contributing to a collaborative team culture
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical communications and familiarity with the FDA approval process is a plus
  • Interest in consumer health communications, disease awareness campaigns, corporate reputation, and patient-focused storytelling

Compensation Range: USD $50,065.00 - USD $73,944.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
