The Media Services Coordinator supports the Office of Media Services by maintaining audiovisual equipment in classrooms and other college locations; providing audiovisual support for events, desktop video conferencing, live streaming, and faculty and student media projects.ย 

This position is located on the Williamson County, TN campus

Essential Functionsย 

  • First level desktop support & diagnostics for audiovisual equipment and system issues.ย 

  • Repairs and maintains simple to complex electronic equipment.ย 

  • Collaborates with Information Technology to resolve computer, software, and network issues.ย 

  • Standardizes classroom equipment by performing modifications to existing systems and new systems across all campuses (primarily Williamson); tests and debugs systems to ensure optimal operation.ย 

  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting of hardware/software.ย 

  • Provides audiovisual support for presentations and productions including delivery, setup, and retrieval for events.ย 

  • Provides lighting, sound, video display/projection, and video recording support for events.ย 

  • Programs audiovisual control systems.ย 

  • Secondary support for Desktop Video Conferencing.ย 

  • Provides "subject matter expert" support for instructional technology.ย 

  • Coordinates support services with Media Services Manager and Theater Coordinator.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย 

  • Operates theatrical lighting equipment including but not limited to lighting control consoles, DMX controlled equipment, etc.ย 

  • Operate professional sound equipment including but not limited to various analog and digital sound consoles, wireless handheld and belt pack microphone equipment, direct sources, various wired microphones, etc.ย 

  • Provides extended services to off-campus sites as needed.ย 

  • Support development, oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment, progression, retention and graduation growth for the service area.ย 

Supplemental Functionsย 

  • Maintain inventory of audiovisual equipment, spare parts, supplies, tools, and diagnostic equipment.ย 

  • Provides video, audio, and lighting support in the Flexible Instructional Space (FIS) and Community room at the Williamson Campus.ย 

  • Supervises the work and duties of student/temporary contract employees.ย 

  • Keeps current on emerging audiovisual technology best practices in education through reading and by attending conferences/workshops/classes.ย 

  • Identifies audiovisual and departmental needs: makes recommendations for improvements.ย 

  • Participates in other college activities, committees, or special assignments.ย 

  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

Education, Training, and Experienceย 

Required:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.ย 

  • One year experience troubleshooting and maintaining electronic equipment.ย 

  • One year experience operating audio, video, photographic and computer equipment.ย 

Additional Experience Desired:ย 

  • Extron Global Configurator.ย 

  • Familiarity with Extron video conferencing systems.ย 

  • Understanding of internet protocol (IP).ย 

  • Digital Multiplex controlled lighting systems.ย 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesย 

  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in electronics work.ย 

  • Knowledge of electronic systems and design layout.ย 

  • Must have strong technical skills in the operation of video, sound, and computer devices.ย 

  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.ย 

  • Must have skills in the use of Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.ย 

  • Ability to instruct and demonstrate to others.ย 

  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic systems.ย 

  • Ability to write processes and procedures.ย 

  • Ability to work independently without supervision.ย 

  • Ability to relate to the faculty, staff, and student population.ย 

  • Must be proactive and continue pursuing certifications and new technology.ย 

  • Maintain and update technical knowledge and be aware of impact of new technology.ย 

Working Conditionsย
