The Sr. Participant Benefits Analyst II will provide additional oversight of the Third Party Administrator, (TPA) for all four Las Vegas Plan Units. The Analyst will provide direction to the TPA on behalf of the union and employers as it relates to employer reporting, contributions, application of late fees, escalated issues and interpretation of contract language. In addition, the position will assist in increasing the oversight and monitoring of plan performance for Hospitality and Alaska.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Reviews weekly claims invoices to identify large claims and claims requiring further research.
  • Monitor and maintains monthly high cost claims reports, identifying trends, and summarizing findings for management, as well as working with vendor partners on claims details.
  • Analyzes local and national benefits to identify trends, analyzes collections.
  • Partners with TPA to support onboarding of new employers and training on employer reporting, and ensuring rates and benefits are setup correctly in TPA systems.
  • Provides direction to TPA in resolving complex or escalated contribution and accounting issues including interpretation of contract language, complex eligibility issues and the application of late fee reporting policy.
  • Works closely with TPA to identify opportunities to enhance processes and communications with the employer and union.
  • Review monthly Contribution and Accounting Collections reports and keeps management informed of employer status.
  • Reviews emails and summaries regarding payroll audit findings, communications to employers and keeps management informed of status.
  • Serves as Liaison between employers, local unions and TPA to resolve complex issues regarding contribution accounting and eligibility.
  • Assists in putting together reports (presentations) of the plans for the Trustees meeting.
  • Performs research and facilitates problem solving in collaboration with Manager of Hospitality, Alaska and Benefits and Director of Hospitality, Alaska and Benefits.
  • Build relationships internally and externally and collaborates effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct research and provide value-added analysis and summary.
  • Creates and maintains process flows and procedures on all assigned work in addition to setting and achieving goals with measurable results.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 - 6 years of related experience in a healthcare or benefits administration role minimum.
  • Working knowledge in health and welfare benefit plans as it relates to plan design and administration.
  • Experience in data analysis and reporting on findings.
  • Strong mathematically proficiency with the ability to extract, compile and interpret data from various sources.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits legal environment (ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA).
  • Working knowledge of Unions and Taft Hartley Funds.

Salary range for this position: Salary $81,400 - $101,700. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to: relevant experience, qualifications, expertise, certifications, licenses, education or equivalent work experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.

Work Schedule (may vary to meet business needs): Monday~Friday, 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week) with potential for hybrid work-from-home arrangement.
