IT Technician Level 1

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

The IT Technician Level 1 will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with IT projects as needed. This role requires a strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and a passion for technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION:

1. Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
3. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
4. Set up and configure network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
5. Assist with IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of IT inventory, software licenses, and user support requests.
7. Collaborate with IT team members to identify and implement process improvements.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends and technologies to enhance the company's IT infrastructure.

Qualifications OF THE POSITION:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is a plus.
2. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
4. Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
5. Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
6. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
7. Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
8. Ability to walk, stand, bend, or reach for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
9. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
10. Flexibility to work on any shift (day or night) as required.
11. Must be able to adhere to stringent security and safety rules.
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
13. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus.
14. SQL experience is a plus
