PRACTICE MANAGER

Job Summary
The Practice Manager is responsible for the daily management of clinic operations related to patient care, customer service, financial performance and staff management, development and training. This role is responsible for the overall clinical operations, ensuring compliance with established regulations and standards including quality assurance, confidentiality, and medical records documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to support staff, ensuring optimal patient flow, high clinical quality and assuring the promotion of policy and directives that promote positive employee relations. Serves as the patient liaison for patient issues.
- Supports training and use of Athena.
- Monitors and improves practice key performance indicators related to revenue cycle, patient satisfaction, and access standards.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and performance evaluations of ancillary support staff.
- Communicates the implementation of organizational procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within clinic teams.
- Coordinates and conducts regular staff, Physician and working group meetings.
- Ensures all regulatory compliance requirements are met, i.e. HIPAA, OSHA, chart coding audits, staff certifications kept up to date, CMS payment programs, etc.
Essential Functions
- Ability to clearly communicate and apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems and deal with a variety of situations.
- Capable of maintaining and managing financial information.
- Knowledge of medical office management and human resource management techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies.
- Demonstrated ability to build long term relationships with physicians and employees.
- Driver of continuous process improvement initiatives in the patient access, clinical quality and revenue cycle functions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and vendors.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in health or business administration or the equivalent of education and experience combined. Three to five years of practice management experience, including at least two years in a health care organization. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
