Cardinal Ritter Senior Services, one of South County's largest independent, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation nonprofit senior living communities, seeks compassionate and experienced Manager to oversee our Foster Grandparents Program.

This Manager of Foster Grandparents Program is responsible for the overall management and operations of the Foster Grandparent Program (FGP} in accordance with the guidelines set by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) and Cardinal Ritter Senior Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serves as the general manager for all active Foster Grandparent.
  • Actively engages in the recruitment of Foster Grandparent applicants and marketing the program throughout the community.
  • Conducts preservice screening of Foster Grandparent applicants, including eligibility verification and criminal history checks.
  • Provides preservice orientation and placement of new Foster
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with current and potential volunteer sites.
  • Ensures ongoing compliance with federal regulations and agency.
  • Provides support for Foster Grandparents on the site.
  • Facilitates quality, bi-monthly in-service.
  • Functions cooperatively with other agency departments to achieve overall goals and
  • Establishes and maintains excellent public relations with current or potential participating institutions and/or funding sources.
  • Oversee all fiscal and budgetary responsibilities for the program, including monthly financial statement reviews, budget and file maintenance, in-kind donations, preparation of annual program budget, grant writing, etc.
  • Attend and participate in all local, state, and national grant meetings for securing program funding.
  • Work with the Advisory Board to provide a quality.
  • Work with the Advisory board and host agency for fund raising in an advisory
  • Produces required federal grant reports throughout the fiscal year to ensure program compliance through the management and tracking of federal performance measures.
  • Updates and manages FGP physical files and databases to ensure grant compliance and
  • performance measurement.
  • Administers annual volunteer income reviews, performance evaluations, volunteer surveys, and emergency contact/beneficiary information.
  • Ensures annual physicals, tuberculosis screenings and COVID vaccinations are completed by Foster Grandparents.
  • Input/processes stipend payments and travel (payroll).
  • Writes monthly impact stories related for the program to be submitted to the CNCS Regional.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred. Experience working with seniors. Experience with HR and Grant management and reporting.

Skills and Attitude Required for Succes

  • Managerial skills to plan, organize, implement, and account for various facets of the program.

  • A strong fiscal acumen is necessary.

  • Requires a strong interest in senior adults and their well-being, plus a capacity to exercise leadership.

  • Must have good communication skills and the ability to relate well with others.

  • Must have experience in HR guidelines required for the management of Foster Grandparents.

  • Marketing skills required for the recruitment of Foster Grandparents and the collaboration with potential and current partnering entities.

  • Capability to initiate and implement in­ kind donation/grant plan of action.

  • Organized, capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously, good communication skills and hone manners.

  • Excellent computer skills and flexibility.

Relationship Requirements

  • It is important for this individual to be able to move easily from task to task.

  • There are many times when Foster Grandparents have issues needing immediate attention and it is vital that they are given priority and handled in an understanding and empathetic manner.

  • All fiscal and grant reports need to be completed in a timely manner to ensure programmatic requirements from the agency and federal government are being met.

Resources for which Accountable

  • This position is accountable for approximately 70 to BO Foster Grandparents.

  • The salary is paid out of a federal grant through the Corporation for National and Community Service.
