Warehouse Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will assist the VP of Operations and will supervise the day-to-day operations in the warehouse which is a distribution environment including administrative and clerical functions, to ensure efficient operations and a safe working environment. Schedules and monitors associate activities and equipment use to meet and exceed company objectives. Manage teams of front-line associates and Shipping & Receiving area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: List the essential duties and responsibilities of the position, in order of importance and/or amount of time spent.

· Regular attendance is an essential job function

· Monitors loading, unloading of containers to ensure is done in a timely matter.

· Accountable to drive key business initiatives – Productivity, Order Processing, and Safety.

· Manage the day to day shipments to ensure on time delivery to customers

· Scorecard items to include, but not limited to: Pieces handled per day, On time attendance of employees.

· Train, coach, and support 10-14 warehouse employees to meet business initiatives and implement new process to enhance warehouse activities.

· Establish warehouse operator’s roles and responsibilities to ensure that all work is consistently performed to the highest standards of quality.

· Monitors and completes numerous computer-based and manual reports, related paperwork, and communicates information with VP of Operations

· Plans and coordinates vehicle and equipment maintenance

· Ensure that the warehouse area is maintained in a safe and hazard free condition by adhering to written policies and procedures and following good workmanship practices.

· Excellent organization, prioritization and communication skills are essential.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES: List other important functions that are secondary duties but may be time consuming.

· Maintain staffing levels and communicate as needs arise

· Interview and selecting new employees

· Ensure warehouse safety regulations are maintained

· Performs other related duties as assigned by manager

· This is a working supervisor position; time spend working in the warehouse helping the crew is a must.

· Expected to work overtime when required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: What does a person in this position need to be able to do?

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Knowledge of inventory management

· Ability to master warehouse tracking systems

· Demonstrated ability to train, supervise and motivate team members

· Able to set high expectations and hold others accountable for results

· Must be PC literate and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

· Interpret warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions

· Organizational skills including the ability to plan effectively, prioritize a variety of tasks and meet critical deadlines.

· Interpersonal skills, including the ability to supervise others, provide leadership, problem solve and resolve conflicts, are critical.

· Self-directed and independent individual capable of identifying changes within the company and adapting the department requirements and their own individual requirements to address the changes.

· Ability to guide and delegate to subordinates.

· Highly self-motivated and problem-solver.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: What is the usual educational background and work experience of an individual qualified to perform this job?

· AA degree or 8+ years of experience in Warehouse Leadership required

· Warehouse shipping, receiving and inventory experience

· 4 years of Lead/Supervisor experience

· Forklift sit-down, stand-up Reach experience, preferred

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: What are the specific physical and mental demands of this position?

· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to use a pallet jack.

· Ability to work in an office and in a production/warehouse environment.

· Good general health, ability to withstand stress of long hours and constantly changing tasks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: List job titles supervised by this position.

· Responsible for the day to day supervision of Warehouse and Shipping & Receiving Department personnel.

· Responsible for key recommendations regarding employee hiring, promotion, discipline, or any other change in status of the employee reporting to this position.

· Deal with conflict management and effectively resolve issues between employees

· Timely completion of performance evaluations in coordination with the Operation Manager and attention to employee development.

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION REQUIRED: How closely is this position supervised day to day?

· Ability to work with limited supervision

· Diligent in communicating issues to management as they arise.
