Lead Accountant

Lead Accountant (Remote)

Seeking a lead accountant or our fast-growing business.

Responsibilities:

· Oversee the accounting team and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial records and reports, involving payroll, accounts payables & receivables, cash management, expense classification and sales tax submissions for 21+ companies

· Coordinate activities and guide the accounting team in the preparation of financial reports, budget analysis, and execution of accounting procedures

· Serve as a liaison between the accounting department and management, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis

· Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements

· Analyze financial data and identify areas for improvement, making recommendations for cost savings and process enhancements

· Work closely with our finance partners and banking institutions for cash flow and transactional management.

· Lead and train accounting team, providing guidance and support as needed

· Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and management, to ensure alignment and effective communication

· Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, financial statements, admissions filings, sales and use tax returnsand other regulatory reports

· Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders

· Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations, laws, and industry best practices, and implement changes as necessary

· Have the ability able to pivot in working with several types of businesses

Skills & Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred

· Experience in leading others

· Experience in a high transactional payroll & accounting environment

· Excellent work ethic with the ability to self-manage time

· Strong communication skills

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in remote working
