Hussey Copper is looking for a Planning SIOP Manager for our Leetsdale, PA location, This position is responsible for the effective management and enhancement of the SIOP Process for a multi-asset, multi-site metals manufacturing operation. In addition, providing thought-leadership and best-practices to the Production Control department so as to optimize and ensure a successful forecast and execution of the annual operating plan. The individual will monitor and maintain key operations and delivery metrics on a daily basis that drives business decisions for all areas of the company. The candidate will be the primary liaison between operations and order full-fillment and sustains balance between operational performance, customer satisfaction, and value-added revenue optimization.

ORGANIZATIONAL

RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to: Director of Production Planning & Control

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: B.S. degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience. Lean or Six Sigma training a plus.

Experience: 10+ years in manufacturing and/or Supply Chain, 5+ years of SIOP or S&OP Process Management

Special Abilities: Knowledge and experience of Enterprise or Materials Resource Planning software, spreadsheets, and databases.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material specifications, and logistics.

Must be action-oriented with proven success in fast paced environments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Must be both team-oriented and self-motivated.

ACCOUNTABILITY: Leads the Corporate SIOP Process to ensure alignment between order-fullfillment, operational performance, value-added revenue, and delivery performance. Sets and maintains the production and inventory targets and forecasts; reviewed daily, to ensure transparency throughout the organization. Escalates any perceived or known risks to the successful execution of the operating plan. Problem solves exceptions and gaps in said performance. Works closely with Planning, Operations, and Sales to continuously maintain and improve the ERP system to more closely match the operations capabilities with the order entry parameters.

Job Elements/Performance Expectations

PROCESS MANAGEMENT

  • Best practice SIOP procedures are regularly monitored and executed to full adherence.
  • Sales order fullfillment is matched with existing value stream scheduling and capacity commitments so as to prevent late orders.
  • Inventory levels are monitored and maintained to achieve days-on-hand and aged inventory goals at each plant.
  • The weekly and monthly capacities by value stream are controlled and optimized.
  • On-time delivery goals are met.
  • Data integrity is maintained and improved across all metrics throughout the SIOP Process.

COMMUNICATION AND LEADERSHIP

  • Leads the SIOP Process and respectfully holds cross-departmental representatives accountable to upholding the vision, mission, and values of the company.
  • Inter-company communication is effective and performed in a professional manner.
  • Positively infuences all directions in the organization including direct reports, peers, and vertically to help the department achieve its goals.
  • Strong facilitator capable of navigating effective and productive meetings.

PROCESS AND PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

  • Demonstrates knowledge of capacities, cycles, and bottlenecks for corporate value streams.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of material flow and product types to best optimize performance.
  • Becomes the PMK (person most knowledgeable) of the scheduling and inventory systems and tools to make the voice of the customer visible to the plant floor.
  • Ability to handle back-up work from the other Planning and Supply Chain personnel is demonstrated.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Regular utilization of lean tools and daily management systems to make problems visible.
  • Industry best practices are developed and implemented successfully.
  • Utilizes root cause problem solving to ensure problems do not return.
  • Evidence of attempts to maximize and improve work efficiency is shown.
  • Evidence of continued education is demonstrated.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is an onsite position. The noise level is minimal and standard for an office environment.
