Position: Director of Operations

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Job Summary:
Reporting to the COO/CFO, the Director of Operations will oversee the day-to-day activities of Son of a Saint, ensuring that the organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Participates in the hiring and training of Operations Department personnel.
- Will act as the direct supervisor for the following employees: Human Resources Manager, Senior Accountant, Logistics Manager, Office Manager, and Building and Facilities Manager.
- Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of Operations Department employees.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Determines labor needs to meet organizational goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities by Department:
- Logistics Management: Develop and implement logistics strategies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and improve delivery timelines.
- Building and Facilities Oversight: Manage maintenance schedules and oversee facility improvements. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for building-related projects.
- Human Resources Coordination: Collaborate with the HR team to recruit, train, and retain talented staff. Implement HR policies and procedures to foster a positive work culture. Address employee concerns and provide guidance on performance management.
- Accounting Supervision: Monitor financial activities, budgeting, and reporting. Review financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Coordinate with external auditors for financial audits.
- Office Management: Oversee administrative functions to support day-to-day operations. Manage office supplies, equipment, and vendor relationships. Coordinate office layout and space utilization for optimal efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Works with chief executives, c-suite, and other members of the leadership team to set the organization's strategic goals.
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates internal operating procedures.
- Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Ensures work environments are adequate and safe.
- Oversees operations personnel to ensure the department is reaching goals set by Son of a Saint leadership.
- Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost in the Operations Department to maintain organizational objectives.
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Improves mentee’s and guardians satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
- Leads coordination and integration of efforts among Operations, Administration, Development, Community Engagement, Programming, and Marketing Departments to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective processes.
- Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, partners, and community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent managerial and diplomacy skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Extensive and diversified background of related experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
