Payroll Analyst
- Full-Time
MDC is currently looking for a Payroll Analyst who provides functional technical advice and assistance to the Defense Health Agency Financial Operations Division (FOD) Civilian Payroll, specifically.
About the Role:
- Utilizes Automated Time and Attendance Production System (ATAAPS) and Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS) to enter employee payroll information, including tax information, status, and direct deposit information
- Runs reports regularly to identify potential issues with missing timecards, certifications, and incorrect status to mitigate potential issues with employee payroll
- Communicates with timekeepers, certifiers, and employees about timecard issues
- Research issues with employee pay errors, follow up with employees, and provide timely resolution
- Creates payroll issue tickets in the Defense Financial Accounting Service (DFAS) Remedy database
- Assists with reporting identified payroll metrics to leadership
- Conducts Entry on Duty (EOD) orientation activities to onboard employees to the Civilian Payroll systems
- Completes employee onboarding and off boarding activities to ensure accurate employee payroll information is reflected in financial systems
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Demonstrated experience working payroll functions.
- Experience coordinating with DCPS, DFAS, and personnel.
- Extensive experience with Automated Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS)
- Extensive experience with Defense Civilian Pay System (DCPS)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience researching employee issues in multiple systems and in coordination with other departments
- Knowledge of automated budget and financial systems and capabilities.
- MS Office Suite experience to include Word and Outlook
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management, Financial Analysis, Managerial Finance, Accounting, Business, or payroll related majors.
Experience: Two Years of payroll experience
Security: Secret
