Job Description Summary

Eastern Oregon University (EOU), College of Business (COB) in La Grande, Oregon is seeking to hire a qualified and enthusiastic Assistant or Associate professor for a tenure-track appointment in Business with a Management focus.

The College of Business offers a variety of business and administration-related programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science and Master's in Business Administration (MBA), along with an interdisciplinary and innovative degree in agriculture entrepreneurship. The college offers on-campus and online undergraduate degree programs in accounting, agriculture entrepreneurship, business, economics, emergency medical services administration, fire services administration, and marketing. The college also provides online Master's degrees in Accounting (M.S.), Business Administration (M.B.A), and Health Care Administration (MHA).

Possible courses to be taught by this position may include, but not be limited to: Principles of Global Business, Organizational Behavior, International Management, Business Policy and Strategy, Project Management, Entrepreneurship and other electives in the candidate's field of expertise or as assigned. All business faculty who teach business courses offered by the academic business unit must be appropriately-qualified to teach within the business discipline.

Responsibilities
  • Primary teaching responsibilities in online and on-campus undergraduate and online graduate level management related courses and electives in areas of expertise and as assigned.
  • College and institutional service.
  • Public outreach as appropriate.
  • Commitment to scholarship and service commensurate with lACBE accreditation principles and EOU tenure requirements.
  • Advising undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Participate in program and curriculum development.
  • Participate in course and program level assessment activities.
  • On-going professional development.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold an earned doctorate in business or business with a major, concentration, specialization, focus area, or emphasis in management or related field ; or hold ABD degree status in business or business with management concentration or emphasis program and provide evidence of degree completion by start date.
  • One year of online teaching experience in management at an accredited college or university.
  • One year on-campus (face to face) teaching experience in management at an accredited college or university.
  • One-year work experience in management or documented scholarly work in management related areas.


  • Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • In addition to the minimum qualifications, two or more years of online and on campus teaching experience undergraduate and graduate management related courses at an accredited college or university.
  • Diversity and global education training and/or experience.
  • Curriculum development and learning assessment.
  • Specialized accreditation experience.
  • Industry experience.
  • Secondary area of expertise/focus/specialization.
  • Advising and mentoring experience.
  • Experience in delivery experiential learning.

Salary

Assistant Professor: $57,621 - $72,439; Associate Professor: $65,120 - $86,903. Assistant/Associate Professor rank salary is determined by weighted years of service based upon the faculty union contract. Ph.D. (or DBA) in Business, Marketing, Management, Business Law and Ethics, and International Business receive an additional 25% offset (Assistant Professor: $72,026 -$90,549) (Associate Professor: $77,788 - $ 97,793). Ph.D. (or DBA) in Finance or Accounting receive an additional 35% offset (Assistant Professor: $81,400 - $108,629) (Associate Professor: $87,912 - $117,319).
