Unit Description
The VP Food Transformation Sodexo North America will play a critical role and will work with global and regional Strategy Teams and Service Operations, especially Food Platform, and with Regional VP Marketing, VP Sales and VP Operations for Segments, keeping a very entrepreneurial spirit at heart.
This person will be an active member of the RMSOC and of the Noram Food transformation Committee and, in those capacities, will advise the Regional Leadership Committee in the definition and execution of the Noram roadmaps on this initiative.
The Food Transformation team will leveragekey functions such as Finance, M&A, Marketing, Digital and Strategy to help develop the go to market approach.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all existing and emerging B2B and B2C food production and distribution models in North America
  • Develop North American 360 view of market trends, consumers and clients needs and viable food models.
  • Track all emerging players in this food transformation and keep an up-to-date tracking system.
  • Analyze the gaps between Sodexo offer and consumers' / clients' expectations.
  • Develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the current market dynamics and keep this analysis constantly updated, in a very fluid environment
  • Develop, present and implement the strategic roadmap for the transformation:
  • Identify needed capabilities and build / acquire / partner them
  • Anticipate road blockers and support in the preparation of pilots and scalability
  • Ensure synergies, in case of external acquisitions, are crafted and delivered with success
  • Prepare and contribute to the local change management plans for operational teams
  • In case of external acquisitions, establish goals, metrics, and governance requirements for successful integrations.
  • Foster positive, productive, proactive relationships with a wide variety of cross functional partners in North America & at global levels
  • Work hand in hand with Food platform, leverage the work done by the Digital, Data & Innovation team at Group level and other relevant work completed, building on the existing foundation to date.
  • Work very closely with the Finance and M&A teams to develop a comprehensive and up to date profiles of key competitors / acquisition targets.
  • Work strategically with the segments (Marketing, Strategy, Operations, Sales), remain very close to the business and understanding the trends on consumers demands
  • Act as the marketing / strategy head for the transversal solutions such as convenient solutions (vending, micro-market, pantry, delivery), ensuring development and implementation of a clear value proposition and a fully integrated go to market strategy, leveraging digital marketing and inside sales.
Requirements:
  • Be comfortable with a highly competitive environment
  • Successful entrepreneurial experience
  • An MBA degree (preferred) with at least 10+ years' experience in marketing management, Strategic Consulting, Digital, Sales or other relevant function and 5-10 years in Senior Management positions.
  • 5+ years in B2C corporations
  • Previous experiences in food industry / food tech
  • Strong Financial acumen, capacity to identify risks and seize opportunities within the P&L
  • Strong sense of service, flexible, agile, enthusiast, with a positive attitude
  • Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing a vision.
  • Digital marketing / content management experience
  • Exposure to virtual and physical sales strategy
  • Adaptive attitude towards quick environment changes, with high level of commitment and objective driven
  • Team player, capability to interact with Sodexo stakeholders at every level (Group, France, segments and potentially international teams)
  • High integrity
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
  • Proven capability to work in matrix mode: strong skillset of collaboration, communication, openness, transparency, willingness to contribute
  • M&A / integration experience a plus
This is a virtual position and a successful candidate can live anywhere in the United States near a major airport.
Position Summary
  • The VP Food Transformation NorAm plays a leading role in the development and the implementation of the food transformation roadmap for Sodexo in North America,
  • To do so, she/he will be in charge of reviewing all existing and emerging B2B and B2C food production and distribution models in North America in order to develop a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the current market dynamics and keep this analysis constantly updated, in a very fluid environment.
  • Based on this analysis, the VP Food Transformation NorAm will then develop, present and implement the strategic roadmap for the transformation: select the relevant building blocks (competences and capabilities) needed, recommend the make /buy / partner decision on those building blocks and coordinate the deployment of all these models. He/she will work in very close collaboration with the Food platform, leverage the work done by the Digital, Data & Innovation team at Group level and other relevant work completed, building on the existing foundation to date. She/he will also work very closely with the Finance and M&A teams to develop a comprehensive and up to date profiles of key competitors / acquisition targets.
  • The VP Food Transformation NorAm will work strategically with the segments (Marketing, Strategy, Operations) and position himself/herself as close to the business as possible to ensure the most comprehensive understanding of current and future business demand.
  • Overall, the VP Food Transformation NorAm will also ensure the overall strategic and marketing coherence of all building blocks by harmonizing the value proposition and the positioning of those models, consolidating their cross-segment go-to-market strategy and implementation. He/she will also ensure that the building blocks with transversal market potential (Convenience Solutions: vending, micro-market, pantry, delivery) have a clear, differentiated and competitive stand-alone go-to-market strategy, leveraging all components of the new Marketing and Sales eco-System.
