The Podcast Producer will report to the Communications Director to support the planning, recording, marketing, and distribution of owned podcast products in the Courier Network. The podcast producer will serve as the point person in ensuring the success of podcasts launched by the company and will work closely with the CEO and COS. Success in this role will require strategic thinking, technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to flex and thrive in start-up environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Conceptualize content ideas and episodes for upcoming podcasts
• Book recording space and schedule guests
• Manage recording of each episode and edit audio for publishing
• Work with Communications and Marketing to promote podcast on owned social channels
• Cut and clip video and audio segments of all podcasts for distribution to social
• Track and analyze KPIs of the podcast post-publishing

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5-7 years of experience in podcast or audio content production, video experience preferred
• Ability to think strategically and creatively to make content that drives the mission of the organization
• Technical knowledge necessary to bring podcast from conception to publication
• Strong time management skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Passion for progressive politics and desire to use new media to reinvigorate local news
• Interest or prior experience in a fast-growth startup environment a plus
