Who We Are

Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) is an established nonprofit that brings a multidisciplinary approach to human rights and seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and the wider public. We educate through facts, advocate using our research findings, and take action to implement change.

Who You Are

We are seeking a compelling and mission-driven Volunteer Podcast Host to lead HRRC's podcast series focused on human rights, advocacy, and lived experiences. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in engaging conversations, has a strong storytelling voice, and is passionate about amplifying diverse perspectives.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and host regular podcast episodes that reflect HRRC's mission and research
  • Conduct interviews with advocates, researchers, and individuals impacted by human rights issues
  • Collaborate with HRRC teams to identify timely and relevant topics
  • Assist in writing episode outlines, scripts, and promotional materials
  • Ensure a respectful and inclusive tone while handling sensitive topics
  • Coordinate with the editing team to review audio and publish episodes
  • Monitor listener feedback and incorporate insights to improve future content
  • Share episodes across platforms and contribute to digital promotion strategy

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in human rights, social justice, public storytelling, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with hosting, public speaking, or interviewing (professional or volunteer)
  • Strong communication skills and comfort speaking on sensitive topics with empathy
  • Basic knowledge of podcast recording tools and remote audio platforms
  • Ability to collaborate in a virtual, fast-paced, start-up nonprofit environment
  • Editorial judgment and a thoughtful approach to representation and inclusion
  • Experience with Canva, Wix, or content management systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with audio editing tools and podcast publishing platforms preferred

Compensation and Commitment

This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with the expectation of 4-6 hours of work per week. At least a six-month time commitment is required.
