Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The successful candidate will be required to teach 2 courses each Fall and Spring semester, one course entitled "Introduction to South Carolina," and a second, "Introduction to the American South". Administratively, the successful candidate will serve as content coordinator, scheduler, and assistant producer of our highly successful Take on the South podcast; help coordinate and increase the Institute's social media presence; assist in generating student and community interest and engagement with the Institute's various digital initiatives; and help develop demand for the Institute's Minor in Southern Studies.

Qualifications
  • PhD in the humanities or social sciences with demonstrable experience in teaching the U.S. South & Administrative experience. 
  • ABD candidates are welcome to apply, but their PhD must be conferred before the start date.
