This role will drive large scale, complex and high impact finance transformation initiatives, including the project planning/coordination, implementation and stabilization of these initiatives for the MCLC finance organization.  The role will provide leadership, direction and oversight for the overall strategy, business case, and project implementation across all areas of the transformation.   Additionally, the role will build and leverage partnerships across MCLC Finance, LSC Finance, Books Finance and external providers to efficiently and effectively achieve program objectives.

Project management techniques, such as process improvement / continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, process automation and technology transformation will be utilized to solve complexities that have impact on the business performance or work effort, where solutions will require coordination and acceptance at a global level.

The ideal candidate will be a Finance Professional with 10 years of experience in end to end Finance and Accounting processes with demonstrated excellence in managing and delivering end to end transformation from strategy to implementations, including requirements analysis, delivery, quality & service levels monitoring, troubleshooting, management escalations & business continuity.

  • Process Management and Governance: Establish success measures for the transformation program using metrics that include key performance indicators (KPIs), benefits targets, other.  Build operating rhythms to update finance and business leadership of program status, including risks, milestones and budget. 
  • LSC Shared Service Transition: Partner with LSC Finance leadership to drive the integration of BU Finance and other LSC finance shared service roles into the MCLC finance organization.  Ensure the efficient organization and work placement design and delivery stabilization.
  • Finance Organization Operating Model: Engages with internal teams and external providers to identify and deliver on transformation opportunities.  Partners with internal Global Process Leaders to provide MCLC input for building process standards documentation and ensures MCLC alignment to the process standards.  Review the finance operating model and lead the change management efforts within the organization to optimize the finance transformation. Ensure the right talent is identified and applied as needed to maintain high effectiveness of the end-to-end process.
  • Technology Transformation: Leverage various technology platforms and solutions to bring efficiency and partner with the service provider to create a technology roadmap for the overall finance process. Identify leading practices and evolving trends in managing the process and introduce these within the organization demonstrating the transformation value.
  • Change Management: Work closely with the CFO and VP-Controller to define the future state of the MCLC finance process and establish clear milestones for the journey. Design and implement an active engagement framework that fosters ongoing dialogue with internal and external stakeholders. Adapt best practices from various entities & implement across the organization.
  • Other transformation projects: Lead other finance transformation projects as defined by the business needs.
  • Location / Travel: While the position can be remote, there may be required travel up to 10%-20%.

Qualifications: 

  • Finance and Accounting qualifications
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of finance and/or business transformations, including leading project management efforts at design through execution levels
  • Minimum 10-12 years of relevant prior experience in Finance and Accounting and 4-5 years of experience of working with an outsourced service provider preferred
  • Knowledge of process improvement and transformation approaches, including change management, process improvement, continuous improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, process/value stream mapping and technology transformation
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across a variety of functions within MCLC, across LSC and within an outsourced service provider.  Build robust relationships with function leaders and partner closely on large scale transformation projects
  • Leverage various tools and methodologies to capture, develop and sign off on user/business requirements
  • Partner with business/finance leaders to develop and deliver financial benefits cases
  • Track record of working within a business with rapidly changing operations, leading scale, transitions, process improvements while establishing and stabilizing the operations
  • Concise and proactive communication skills with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and constructively in a multi-cultural, global/virtual team environment
