Job Description

The Director of IT is responsible for leading the IT team as well as designing and maintain network and cloud infrastructure for headquarters and Every Home global office. This position continues to function as both, manager as well as one of the lead technical support for the phone and data networks and also setting up and maintaining computers and servers. The Director assigns work and holds accountable other members of the team. Provides second/third level assistance to employees in all computer, printer, email, or phone problems. This role must be able to manage and implement projects on their own, as well as support both headquarters and the global office in a client relationship to serve them, while maintaining standards for the ministry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Every Home for Christ.
  • Adheres to the Biblical standards of moral conduct, Every Home for Christ vision statement, Every Home for Christ statement of faith, Every Home’s Employee standards and policies, Every Home’s Covenant of Harmony and upholds Every Home for Christ’s ministry in prayer.
  • Provides overall leadership for IT operations team. Exemplifies Christian leadership by maintaining a mature Christian climate within the organization and encouraging the development of staff through mentoring, teaching, and by living example of Every Home for Christ Core Values and expectations.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of strategic goals for IT.
  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure security of data, network access, backup systems.
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes. Schedule regular maintenance cycles monthly, quarterly and annual reviews keeping all departments informed.
  • Responsible for overall security of ministry network. Proposes and implements best security practices in coordination with the VP of Technology and provide security awareness to ministry headquarters and global offices.
  • Preserve and inventory of assets, information security and control structures in step with budgets and our overall security posture.
  • Oversight of and maintains the Microsoft VoIP phone system.
  • Oversight of and maintains all Windows servers and possibly some Linux servers.
  • Oversight of and maintains the network infrastructure including switch stacks, firewalls, wireless.
  • Oversight of and maintains the virtualization environment with VMWare.
  • Maintains the Storage Area Networks and creates multi layered backup policies and positions the ministry for DR/BC ready
  • Implements ITIL/ITSM practices of serving and providing excellent customer service across the organization.
  • Helps Chief Innovation Officers and VP of Technology with compliance requirements for PII, PCI, GDPR, CCCPA, CISM and other regulatory requirements to maintain and manage controls across the organization.
  • Assists with security procedures including scanning, logging, and training.
  • Assists with maintaining the printers.
  • New computer setup or system upgrades
  • Provides 2nd/3rd level assistance to employees with their desktop systems (hardware and software)
  • Devises and designs backup architecture to helps manage backups, documentation, and disaster recovery.
  • Responsible for IT operations budget oversight of IT operations team and assist VP of Technology in overall budget planning and preparation
  • Maintains understanding of Microsoft and AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Maintains email flow, data storage, security of connected devices, and Azure Active Directory
  • Designs classification of data and enforcement of security policies.
  • Audits usage of cloud environment
  • Deploy cloud solutions to global offices.
  • Assists with escalated cloud tech support requests.
  • Creates teaching content for global offices to manage their own cloud environments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Has an active and personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Attends/participates in a local church
  • Education: minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field
  • Experience: 5-8 years of IT experience, specifically with Microsoft Windows/Office; Microsoft Servers/Active Directory; Cisco Networking; 3-5 years specially high level knowledge with scripting, Active Directory; 1-3 years of successful people leadership
  • Certifications/Licensing: Cisco, Microsoft, Security+ VMWare are all a plus but not required.
  • Other Requirements: available for after-hours work for installations/ updates and communication with global offices; occasional on-call needs

  • Proven experience as successful IT leader
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and computer hardware/software systems
  • Expert in data center management/data governance
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong verbal and non-verbal skills
  • Self-starter with strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Quick learner
  • Ability to teach and train successfully
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Possesses or is able to learn, a complete working knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office; Microsoft Servers; Cisco Networking, VMWare, Veeam, CentOS, Mac OSX and Office365
  • Strong management of cloud environment via scripting, device lockdowns and scaling security automation across the networks.
