Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager, Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day warehousing tasks, material handling support, and shipping/receiving duties for the Production and Parts teams. The associate will also expedite and maintain the movement of materials from vendors and suppliers and between departments in an organization. This role requires the ability to remain organized and on top of scheduled shipments and production goals. This involves receiving and fulfilling demand from internal and external customers, quoting internal and external customers, vendor management, procurement, material costing, inventory management, and material kitting. Success for this role is measured by our ability to deliver the required parts to our operations team and our customers “on time and on budget”.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Shipping/receiving duties.
  • Must have a valid forklift license.
  • Experience with both Reach and Counterbalance Forklifts is required.
  • Maintaining shop supplies and equipment in good order.
  • Managing inventory levels in both the parts stock area and warehouse; count inventory as required.
  • Communicating effectively with vendors and customers.
  • Handling skids, boxes, and loose materials.
  • Stocking materials within the warehouse and production.
  • Performing monthly physical inventory and regular cycle counting.
  • Maintaining a record of the outstanding purchase orders.
  • Contacting vendors through telephone calls, by email and in person.
  • Monitors shipments to ensure that purchase order information matches the shipment. This can include the quantity and quality of materials. Resolve inconsistencies in the order.
  • Cleaning up and maintaining warehouse, production and property areas.
  • Assisting Parts and Service Coordinators as required.
  • Performing all duties in a safe manner; reading and following all Genrep Health & Safety policies.
  • Following all company policies and procedures.
  • Upholding a strong safety culture, performing duties in a safe and effective manner and following all Genrep, provincial and federal safety standards and guidelines.

 

Shift Time: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm

Location: Waterdown, On

Report to: Warehouse Manager

 

Desired Skill, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; verbal, reading and writing
  • Previous experience with shipping and receiving
  • Experience in Supply Chain within a manufacturing/warehousing environment
  • A commitment to safety
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Office at a basic level, is required
  • Highly organized and structured approach to completing tasks
  • Team player with a desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and practice solid decision making
  • Exceptional time management skills with ability to multi‐task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines with a deep attention to detail.
