Cafe Food Server

The Food Server in the Café is responsible for providing a superior dining experience to Guests of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

• Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “Winning Attitude” company-wide culture and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
• Greet Guests at the table verbally with a warm welcome.
• Take food and beverage orders from Guests. Describe specials, promotions and featured menu items. Answer menu questions as needed.
• Make other menu recommendations, up-selling when possible including offering appetizers, desserts, and coffee or other beverages.
• Provide necessary condiments to Guests before the meals arrive.
• Pre-bus tables as dishes become available for clearing.
• Monitor the timeliness of delivery to tables, communicating with food runners when needed.
• Ensure Guest satisfaction by performing food quality checks and responding immediately to Guest complaints or concerns.
• Take orders and process into point-of-sale (POS) system, and process Guest check at the end of the meal.
• Monitor open tables in POS throughout the shift to verify all Guest checks are accounted for.
• Perform tasks including bussing tables, greeting and seating Guests, side work, and duties assigned by management.
• Answer phones and provide information as needed.
• Ensure that all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
• Prior restaurant experience serving experience required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols, including at night.
• Ability to taste and smell.
• Requires bending and reaching for supplies and equipment.
• Ability to transport plates and trays weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of shift.
• Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.
