Join The Osthoff Resort's Grounds Crew as a full-time, year-round Groundskeeper! This role plays a key part in ensuring the resort’s outdoor spaces create grand first impressions for our guests and continuously reflect our high standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands on outdoor work, takes pride in keeping spaces clean and orderly, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Prior relevant experience and/or education is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual. If you have a good work ethic and a positive attitude, we encourage you to apply!

Pay range: $19-$25/hour, dependent on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the resort grounds are presented and maintained at AAA Four Diamond standards
  • Perform turf maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, irrigating, fertilizing, etc.
  • Apply pesticides as needed
  • Maintain and install hardscapes such as walkways, patios, and outdoor guest areas
  • Assist with seasonal planting projects and annual plant care—planting, watering, fertilizing, mulching, pruning, weeding, etc.
  • Support snow removal and winter property maintenance
  • Assist with outdoor holiday decorating
  • Assist with larger-scale landscape beautification projects
  • Operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, compact loaders, aerial equipment, etc.
  • Operate company vehicles including pickup truck and utility transport vehicles
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on landscaping equipment
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Broad knowledge of grounds, turf, and plant care a plus
  • Knowledge of plant and weed characteristics, growth habits, and care a plus
  • Must have Commercial Pesticide Applicator Category 003.0 Turf amp; Landscape Certification (or must be obtained within first year of employment)
  • Ability to operate landscaping equipment and vehicles
  • Knowledge of routine/preventative equipment maintenance
  • Ability to diagnose and perform repairs to equipment and/or vehicles
  • Experience in operating and maintaining irrigation systems a plus
  • Ability to lift 50 + lbs. on a regular basis
  • Availability to work some weekends/holidays throughout the year and be on-call for snow removal during winter months
  • Strong customer/guest service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Willing and able to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Ability to kneel, bend, twist, reach, stand, climb/work on ladders and aerial lifts, and shovel on a frequent basis
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to take direction
