Kitchen Expeditor- The Odyssey

The Kitchen Expeditor is responsible for setting the pace and flow of the kitchen. The expo receives the order tickets from the printer in the kitchen and communicates which menu items need to be prepared to the head cook/chef. The expo will ensure that all plates being sent from the kitchen are plated and executed to company standards. As well as, maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.

Pay: $15.50 - $18.00 / hour

Job Duties

• Adhere to plate presentation guidelines
• Read tickets and communicate which menu items need to be prepared
• Coordinate tickets and ticket times with service/kitchen staff and managers
• Work with speed and efficiency to ensure proper and timely output of restaurant menu items
• Keep updated on menu changes and ensure proper execution of plate presentation to maintain a high quality and consistent product
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen area throughout shift.
• Break down and clean station thoroughly every day.
• If need, complete plates with any finishing garnishes
• Ensure proper rotation of all products to par. Label, day dot, and sign all products
• Must be dressed and well groomed in Company approved uniform at all times
• Adherence to Company and Safety Policies and Procedures
• Must wear approved manufacturer certified slip resistant or non-slip shoes at all times while working

Education/ Experience/ Skills:

• Must excellent reading and communication skills
• Excellent time management, organization and situational awareness
• Able to problem solve and remain calm in challenging situations
• High school or 2 years of full scale concept
• Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate English
• Bilingual Preferred

Travel Requirements:

• Local travel required when considered necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to walk and stand for hours at a time. Lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
