The Marriott Residence Inn's Sono Rooftop Bar and Lobby Bar is look for an engaging and experienced Restaurant Supervisor to supervise all aspects of the service restaurant functions, in accordance with the hotel standards. Directs, implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.

General Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervising of all aspects of the service Restaurant functions, in accordance with hotel standards. Directs, implements and maintains a service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.

Qualifications- Essential

  • ServSafe and/or food safety training.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts in a 24 X 7 business environment.
  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible communication. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to accurately compute mathematical calculations and use required measurement tools.
  • Ability to prepare budgets and ensure cost controls.


Qualifications (Desired):
  • Some College.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Previous guest relations and/or training.
  • Fluency in a second language, preferable Spanish.
  • Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
Skills:
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.
  • Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with Food & Beverage staff.

    3. Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
    4. Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
  1. Supports and participates in common teamwork:
    1. Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
    2. Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
    3. Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or guests regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
    4. Promotes positive public relations with guests and employees.
    5. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.


Essential Functions: (Include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned.)
  • Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department:
  1. Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.
  2. Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company's business operations.
  3. Establishes, maintains, and trains standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department.
  4. Responsible for responding and handling guest related issues pertaining to the department.
  • Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff.
  • Manages all aspects of employee performance to ensure productivity and a quality work environment.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of:
  1. All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections available in restaurant.
  2. The particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
  3. Designated glassware and garnishes for drinks.
  4. All menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices.
  5. Daily menu specials, 86'd items.
  6. Dining room layout, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code.
  7. P.O.S. and manual system procedures.
  8. Daily house count, arrivals/departures; V.I.P.'s; scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
  9. Correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  10. All department policies/service procedures.
