TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

USW Union, Food Service Salary Schedule.
Rate of pay is $12.13 per hour.
One (1) part-time, school year position available.
Start date is upon expiration of the posting deadline and in accordance with Article XIII, Section C, 2 of the USW Contract

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: This position will assist with the Food Service program as directed by the appropriate supervisor.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Assumes responsibility in all phases of food preparation.
Assist in various related kitchen duties such as inventory, reports, clean up, mopping, and putting stock away as assigned by the supervisor.
Ability to keep all student, parent, and staff information confidential.
Ability to work in a site-based decision-making system that utilizes teams and collaborative decision-making processes.
A positive attitude in working with students, parents, the staff members, and community members.
Willingness to be flexible in work schedule to meet customer needs.
Other duties as requested by the appropriate supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Must have a minimum of two years' experience as a cook.
Must have a special food service course and/or home economics.
Familiar with the operation of kitchen equipment.
Practice acceptable sanitation and safety rules and regulations.
Must be able to work well in demanding environments.
Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
Good oral and written communications skills required.
Ability to work well with others.
Must be willing to receive additional training to improve job skills.
Must have a good attendance record.
Must have good references.
Working knowledge of computer keyboarding skills is helpful.

TESTING MAY BE ADMINISTERED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: Arithmetic, spelling, vocabulary, number comparison, name comparison, and writing ability.
