Overview: Seeking a proactive Claims & Compliance Manager with a strong background in freight brokerage. This role leads compliance and cargo claims processes, ensuring risk mitigation, regulatory adherence, and timely claim resolution. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, demonstrates leadership, and excels at cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee carrier vetting, insurance verification, and safety compliance using industry platforms (e.g., Carrier411, SAFER, Highway).
  • Lead and monitor team workflows, ensuring timely and accurate documentation reviews and compliance with SOPs.
  • Manage cargo claims intake, investigation, and resolution, maintaining detailed records and clear communication with carriers, customers, and insurers.
  • Ensure adherence to FMCSA regulations, 49 CFR Part 370, and internal risk controls.
  • Identify compliance gaps, recurring carrier issues, and recommend process improvements.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and offshore teams to resolve escalations and maintain audit readiness.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in freight brokerage, transportation compliance, or cargo claims management.
  • Experience leading teams or mentoring staff in a logistics setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with TMS, compliance tracking tools, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage sensitive information discreetly.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with FMCSA, 49 CFR Part 370, and insurance verification processes.
  • Experience with OS&D, accident investigations, or remote team collaboration.
