Job Summary: This position prepares food, serves deli patrons at counter and at deli tables, receives cash from customers in payment for goods or services and records amounts received.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take orders from guests
  • Prepare deli foods following all food safety and sanitation guidelines that require short preparation time, according to the guest requirements.
  • Complete order from steam table and serve the guest at the table or counter.
  • Prepare and serve soft drinks and ice cream dishes, such as ice cream sundaes, malted milks, sodas, and fruitades, using memorized formulas and methods or following directions.
  • Operate a cash register/POS (Point of Sale) system, ringing in the proper amount into the register and giving the guest the correct change.
  • Account for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established policies and procedures, maintaining the integrity of all financial controls and responsibility.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, organized, safe and comfortable work environment for Team Members and guests.
  • Clean glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment and polish metalwork on fountain.
  • Keep work areas, countertops, and deli tables clean, sanitized, and free of debris at all times.
  • Maintain professional grooming and appearance according to the established grooming and appearance policies.
  • Work at other locations as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of work.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to count money and make change correctly.
  • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of POS systems.
  • Must have good guest service skills
  • Must be able to handle busy periods during peak service times.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time with infrequent and brief rest periods, must be able to bend, kneel and reach, and must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Must be able to meet Odawa Casino Resort internal training requirements.
  • Must be flexible with shift and days off with the ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and special events, etc., as needed.
  • You may be required to pass a skills assessment test to determine if you meet the minimum qualifications of the position.
  • Exposure to loud and continual noise levels and a smoke filled environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the LTTB Gaming Regulatory Commission, and be able to serve in the position under any other applicable law.
  • Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
