Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Mechanical Project Manager is the primary leader in the field, and is directly accountable for the safety, financial performance, and the Mechanical team development on site. The Mechanical Project Manager will lead the project team in the Mechanical portions of the project. This position is responsible for providing effective leadership to the Mechanical project staff and ensuring quality and timely completion of the project. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate with Project Director and Estimating in development of a Project Chart of Accounts
  • Develop detailed Project Contract status report
  • Coordinate with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan
  • Maintain thorough understanding of the contract and contract documents
  • Oversee the pay request process
  • Monitor project costs and Job Cost Report
  • Analyze and forecast quarterly Total Cost Projection reports
  • Implement and monitor training of all staff personnel
  • Monitor project labor and communicate upcoming scheduling needs
  • Review and approve material, equipment, and rental needs
  • Oversee material procurement process to facilitate project schedules
  • Assist Estimating in bidding projects
  • Implement applicable safety, EEO and Affirmative Action programs
  • Lead the project’s quality process
  • Develop, schedule and lead project close-out processes
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners to represent McCarthy core values
  • Implement all applicable Safety Programs and EEO/Affirmative Action Programs
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering required
  • 3+ Years of Experience in highly complex mechanical and plumbing construction projects
  • Advanced knowledge of complex mechanical systems and means/methods of installation
  • Understands plumbing and mechanical code and installation practices
  • Experienced dealing with and managing subcontracts
  • Experience leading successful project teams, including development of employee and maintaining relationships with external entities
