Assistant Property Manager
Newark/Heath, Ohio Area
Pay Rate: $36,000 $40,000/year
Assistant Property Manager Job Description
The Assistant Property Manager supports the daily operations of a residential property community, including leasing, resident relations, rent collection, compliance, and maintenance coordination. This role assists the Property Manager and may act on their behalf when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with leasing apartments, processing applications, and conducting background checks
Support resident move-ins, renewals, recertifications, and compliance requirements
Maintain waiting lists, resident records, rent rolls, and delinquency reports
Collect rent payments, prepare deposits, and assist with financial reporting
Coordinate maintenance requests and monitor property conditions
Respond to resident concerns and help resolve complaints
Assist with inspections, inventories, and property reporting
Work with residents, contractors, housing agencies, and the public professionally
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred
Experience in property management, real estate, or customer service preferred
Knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs is a plus
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Work Environment
Office setting with some property inspections
MondayFriday schedule with minimal travel
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and use standard office equipment
