Job Title: Coordinator - Event Center
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Event Facilities
Pay Grade: Commensurate with Experience
Calendar: 226 days
Dept./School: Magnolia Event Center
Primary Purpose:
Assist the Director of Event Facilities with managing the day to day operations of the Magnolia Event Center. Coordinate all job duties including booking events, event set up and strike, manage social media, facility marketing, promotions, and event planning.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Valid Texas driver's license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient in operating a computer
Proficient in Google applications
Competent in records management and general office procedures
Effective oral and written communications
Demonstrate effective leadership skills
Knowledge of building management and facility and maintenance operations
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Possess effective planning and strong organization skills
Ability to work unique hours such as nights, weekends, and holidays
Great customer service skills
Experience:
Experience in marketing/hospitality/event planning or related occupation preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Event Facilities
- Maintain calendar
- Manage and maintain various social media accounts to promote the facility
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and customers (internal and external)
- Manage event operations (preparing venue, billing/invoicing, deposits, etc.)
- Assist with daily operations of event facilities
- Maintain inventory of equipment and materials
- Work cooperatively with district staff
- Perform set-up and strike of stage equipment, meeting room furniture (chairs, tables, carts)
- Work with other departments to successfully operate event facilities
- Project a professional image in appearance and personal conduct
- Utilize a positive, proactive and innovative approach to work
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
- Other duties assigned
Safety
1. Physically capable of bending, stooping, continuous standing and walking
2. Ability to work on fixed or portable ladders
3. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures
4. Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition
5. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including
lifting, climbing, etc.
6. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable
to supervisor immediately

Maintain emotional control under stress. Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Working irregular and prolonged hours including weekends, holidays and nights.
