JOB SUMMARY

The Franchise Business Consultant/Field Trainer is a blended training and consulting position. As a Franchise Relations team member, this individual will work collaboratively within both the Education and Franchise Support business units. They will plan, facilitate, and lead learning experiences within Kilwins University that enable Franchisee/Store Owners and Kilwins team members to understand, commit to, and effectively utilize Kilwins proven business model that reflect Kilwins brand. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the Kilwins brand by working with Franchisee/Store Owners for their assigned Kilwins stores to ensure protection of our brand standards and travel to assist with new store openings and transfers of ownership.

As an ambassador of the brand, they must have a clear understanding of all Kilwins retail operation systems and how these systems support the Kilwins brand. They must possess excellent communication and facilitation skills and have a strong understanding of and commitment to the utilization of adult learning principles. The responsibilities will vary based on business needs and be divided between facilitating Kilwins University, providing Franchisee/Store Owner support to an assigned group of Kilwins stores, and supporting new store openings and transfers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Personally represents Kilwins Core Values, Core Purpose, Core Operating Standards, and Brand Promise.
Provide integrity, honesty and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and purpose of the Kilwins Brand.
Utilize effective, engaging facilitation skills in one-on-one, small group, and virtual learning sessions; this position requires strong written communication and in-person presentation skills.
Demonstrate commitment to and application of adult learning principles.
Work cooperatively with Franchisee/Owners to ensure the Kilwins proven model is followed.
Ensure successful compliance of Kilwins Brand Standards within all stores.
Develop, implement, and maintain open relationships with Franchisee/Store Owner and store teams.
Effectively communicate and document Franchisee/Store Owner performance. Store support areas may include:
1. Assisting stores with day-to-day operational issues (non-HR-related)
2. Celebrating success and rewarding performance
3. Reviewing Key Performance Indicators
Perform regular impactful store visits to assess and ensure store operating standards and alignment with the "5 Star Wellness Consultation" and compliance to Kilwins Brand Operating Standards which include:
1. Products - Products and Fixtures Furnishing and Equipment
2. People - Customer Service (non-HR related)
3. Place - Store Environment
4. Presentation - Merchandising
5. Promotion - Marketing
6. Financial Review
7. Operational requirements such as on-time ordering, insurance requirements, etc.
Employ effective collaboration and communication skills while supporting all KCF and KQC business units.
Conduct Franchisee/ Store Owner learning sessions, facilitate new store pre-opening and opening activities, and provide support for store transfers and closures.
Audit Kilwins store refresh or transfer requirements to ensure completion prior to renewal or transfer.
Track store operations and maintain performance dashboard.

Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures, ServSafe® certified preferred.
Ability to manage and follow Kilwins established documentation system.
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in the English language.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to travel to stores as needed to support Franchisee/Store Owners. (overnight travel required, approximately 30%)
Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in retail store or training environment
Must be able to travel by aircraft and drive an automobile and have a valid driver's license
Must reside within daily commuting distance to office in Petoskey, Michigan

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous training experience with adult learners required
Four-year college degree preferred
Previous franchising experience preferred
Proven track record of relevant accomplishments
Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
